Laptops have lacked the element of personalisation, though being an extension of personal computing devices or PCs. The reason to this has been that the volume of sales is still enterprise led where the emphasis has been more on utility than anything. Barely a couple of decades ago, security in residential premises meant having sturdy locks on the doors and a few security personnel guarding the property’s perimeter. During the past decade, as digital devices have become part of daily life, smart homes are now guarded zealously by multiple layers of IoT-enabled security devices that fortify individual residences and the overall society perimeter.
